What I found most compelling in this document was how they say that through understanding vocabulary of the typography, you can have a greater appreciation for the “visual harmony”.
To me this says that each form of typography carries its own meaning and does more than write out the verbal meaning of an object - it’s part of the design.
I love fonts. Fonts help tell a story by their unique characters and each font has its own personality. When doing projects, I carefully pick a font that I know will best suit whatever it is that I may be working on.
I believe that typography has a greater meaning, that develops a work more than explaining it. It helps it stand a part and ultimately transcend the meaning of it.
